About The Artwork
Due to the drought and hemlock looper moth infestation, an estimate of 1,600 trees will be cut down in Stanley Park, biggest urban park in Vancouver, BC in the course of next two years, starting December 2023. Temporary existence of trees in the forest before being cut down inspired the series Certain Trees. The project aims at showing the poetic aspect of the fragility of life and also effects of human intervention in nature as the reasons for the death of trees in this case was preventable and is the result of human meddling with nature in long term.
