About The Artwork
This work is inspired in Camp 17, Grugliasco near Turin, thousands of jewish survivors arrived there, mostly from centraleast Europe, there they were lodged and assisted between 1945 and 1949 . In fact after the Second World War a large number of women and men arrived in Italy, looking for a temporary shelter waiting for a new and permanent destination to begin their lives again That camp meant a new birth , the rescue of humanity which seemed lost or condemned ..there many love stories flourished and weddings were held, many babies were born

Marta Valls has a Fine Arts degree from Barcelona University (1988), specialising in Photography. Marta lived and worked in England from 1988-1990, where started her artist professional career. In 1990 was invited by the Fondazione Italiana per la fotografia (Photography Italian foundation) to take part to the Bieannale di Fotografia (Fototgraphy biennal) with a personal exhibition, since then, Marta has lived and worked in Turin. She is an Art teacher in the secondary school. She has exhibited in many galleries in Italy and Europe.
