About the Author Zuimeng Cao descends from the Manchurians of the northeast of China. He started to work in 1981. Then he became a professor at the Arts Institute and an art theorist. He accumulated many years of experience in research and creativity by going to the forested areas such as Hailin, Tang Wanghe, Wuying and Jiayin in Heilongjiang Province. Zuimeng Cao became an expert in Chinese painting, specifically those that depict scenes of the snowy landscapes of northern China. He also published many papers and specialty essays on art. Most of his paintings reflect the snow, ice, plain fields, wild birds and animals. He has won several awards at the Provincial, National and International level. Most recently, he was awarded the Silver "Peace Prize" at the U.S. World Arts Center. His paintings were first exhibited at the National Art Museum of China, and then around the country. Both the Art Museum of China and the China Institute of Arts have collected his artistic works. Cao's art work and his experience have been made into several TV programs and documentary, including " Zuimeng's Art Experience," "The Beauty of Zemeng's Chinese Paintings," and "A Discussion of Ugly Creativity Arts." In the field of ideology, he is the first person to criticize the "ugly creativity" arts which are the opposite of the "beauty" arts. He also advocates a close correlation between the artist's appreciation of beauty and the subjective initiative of audiences. In his work, Zuimeng Cao manifests the establishment of noble moral art.
