My name is Kerstin Lindstrom. I was born 1948 in Hanko, Finland. I am a free-lance woman-artist - working mostly today with pharaonic art in different ways - paintings on papyri and on other material - pharaonic reliefes med of italian sculpture clay - today I also work with pharaonic interior design for example - tales for the kitchen and the bathroom - pharaonic art furniture in the shape of a chair with pharaonic motives (not from a model) - pharaonic jewellery - I am represented : Hesselby Slott (Hesselby Palace) Stockholm, Sweden - Hanko, Finland - Borås Textil Museum (Boras Textile Museum) Borås, Sweden - As long as I can remember I have been writing small stories and poetry. I want with my poetry to touch, fascinate, comfort and at the same time be an alarm to make people react against unfairness and cruelty which has become more and more common these days.The world we live in today has become so hard and cold. People suffer more and more. If we try to forgive and understand each other I believe that even the biggest wall starts to crumble and crack.Here follows some of my poems:FEELING - Red light of dawn/pearl-dew/tears rolling down/a prince of dreams/distance farther and farther/only a sensation left/of how it was written by Kerstin Lindstrom UNDERSTANDING - What went wrong/many faults and mistakes were made/noone to blame/all DO mistakes/the main thing is/the understanding/between people written by Kerstin Lindstrom TEARS - These small salty drops/have filled oceans during years/so much sorrow/so many broken hearts/to comfort someone is NEVER wrong whenever needed written by Kerstin Lindstrom TRAVELLING IN A DREAM - I will dream/sail away towards the west where the sun sets/where the mirrors of my soul are glittering with the rippling of the water/and the air is filled with the song of peace written by Kerstin Lindstrom BEHIND THE MOUNTAINS The wind takes you on a tour/behind the hills behind the woods/follow the tour even you/to heal the wounds of your soul written by Kerstin Lindstrom I have been drawing and painting since I can remember. My Egyptian-inspired works draws on historical sources that deal with symbolic sources dating back to the pyramids. I am an excellent example of an artist who relates to ancient civilations and their sources of cultural power. I participated at the 2007 Florence Biennale.
