About The Artwork
Shardae-Rose was the model for this evocative painting. She has lent her own experience and emotion to this touching picture, which provides no obvious answer for the young woman's seemingly desperate state of mind. I have found that stencilled spray paint is a wonderful way of priming a canvas for oil paint. On this occasion I have used a combination of oil paint over the spray paint to find texture and humanity.
