About The Artwork

The city of Bombay and it's organised chaos inspired me to create this piece. It is a part of a diptych - Walkthrough I & II. These 'walkthroughs' or experience of walking through Bombay city and mind mapping not just the urban layout of the city, but the intricate web of sights, sounds, smells and sub-culture and how the urban form of Bombay made me feel. The act of aimless meandering and being a flaneuse which results in perceiving characteristics of a city along the way, is a method I often use in my research to create urban-centric works of art such as cityscapes, landscapes and spatial studies.

Notable exhibitions and engagements include a solo show of her paintings in UNESCO New Delhi, solo show at the Kuona Trust, Nairobi, solo show and panel at Durham University, UK, and collaborations in the research areas of image making and chronic pain with the Slade School of Art, London.
