Encaustic and oil on Linen,I'd been exploring the history of painting as a sort of pathology,.I love traditional techniques to create contemporary forms,I also have a love for the process and labour involved . This was one of a series of paintings utilizing grisaille images based upon personal black and white photos and then using a stiff brush technique to pull them out of focus,the other is a building of image through the forms created by layering encaustic and pigment in a mirrored grid.
