About The Artwork
I was hihgly inspired by a beautifull garden of a friend full of dahlia's. There were hundreds of them and it was amazing all the colours. So I decided to pick up armsfull of dahli's and put it in my atelier and painted this two large canvasses. I was very much enjoying of making it!! So it are two large paitings of 63x15,75 inches of a red dahlia and a red/white dahlia!

I was born in 1949 in Utrecht (Holland) and live in Houten, near Utrecht. I have a little atelier 3,50x6.00 meters there and make big paintings in oil on canvas and drawings from flowers, plants and portrets in oil. I give courses and workshops in painting. My inspiration is nature and I paint that very large in oil. I am happy to have a garden with all kind of flowers, but specially beautifull poppies! I paint and draw them always. I love it!!! But I am fond of flowers anyway!!
