I was inspired to paint these majestic creatures while watching a documentary about them. Though white lions are the result of a genetic rarity, they are revered by South African tribes in the Timbavati region as symbols of leadership and pride. They have been hunted to near extinction because of their uniqueness. Fortunately they are now being protected by the Global White Lion Protection Trust. This is an original oil painting on gallery wrapped heavy-duty canvas. The painting extends to the sides of the canvas, and hence does not need framing. It comes signed at the front bottom corner. Unframed painting size: 18x24x1.5 in.
