About The Artwork

I love the forest, particularly the tall trees and thick canopy of the temperate rainforest near where I live on the west coast of British Columbia. Through the Bamboo takes you on a journey into an ethereal forest of shapes amid vertical stalks and wispy streamers. Lose yourself in the dark places! This striking black-and-white abstract painting requires a large feature wall that gives the painting room to breathe. Signed on the back and wired for hanging. Shipped with a Certificate of Authenticity.

I am an abstract/landscape painter living on Bowen Island near Vancouver, BC. I use paint to discover and uncover organic forms, sometimes stylized and dynamic, sometimes loose and subtle. As you'll see in the collections on this website, my work draws upon traditions common to surrealism and abstract expressionism. A lot of my inspiration comes while traveling and absorbing other cultures and landscapes, particularly those of France and Italy. As the son of an architect who instilled in me a love of modernist art and architecture, I'm also inspired by painters such as Picasso, Miro and Max Ernst. My work is included in public and private collections worldwide and I have exhibited throughout Europe and in Canada, the United States, Asia, and South America.
