About The Artwork
" The root & branches" Inspired by the current political and social crisis of diversity and identity issues. I explored here to draw what creates us as a physical, ideological object and what connects or distinguish from each other. Globes with different continents, DNA marks, religious, social, cultural symbols, signs, scripts are represented in our roots and branches, mirroring who we are. This is one of my series works produced between 2019-2020, explored identity issues drawn on circle boards with the icon alike composition and minimalist approach. Artwork size is 51cmx51cmx0.5cm diameter but the framed size is 61cmx61cmx3.8cm, D-ring, strap hanger is attached on the back of the frame. It will be safely packaged for the delivery. I am a London-based Mongolian-born visual artist. Growing up in the Eastern Bloc, practising Buddhist and Folk Arts in Mongolia, education in Japanese Fine Arts in Tokyo and later moved the UK provoked my curiosity in social-cultural anthropology. I became increasingly aware of my native cultural ideology of "Hooson Chanar", which is influenced by the Buddhist view of Nagarjuna Sunyata. I see and compare social and environmental issues in interrelationships, dependent on each other to exist in harmony and quality of the impermanence of all things. With this view, my works have mostly metaphoric expression whether I choose subjects with figurative objects or abstract shapes.
