The Crossing Painting

Patrick is a oil painter from Philadelphia, PA. He enjoys painting landscapes & cityscapes in a highly realistic fashion. All photographic references are his own. The painting starts with a detailed drawing on canvas. Once a drawing is established pigment is mixed then applied. Many times a sky is painted to completion first. The painting has little to any depth at this stage. Once the canvas is covered Patrick paints in sections using small brushes. A variety of techniques are utilized to achieve detail. Pigment is mixed for any given area (automobiles, windows, trees etc.) then applied.
