About The Artwork

This is a painting of my cat Sid. When I got him, he was the last kitten who needed a home, the cat that nobody wanted. I had to have him! The painting depicts him a few years older. Sometimes, the way he looked at me melted my heart. Cats need a loving home. There are so many cats in rescue centres that will look at you like Sid does in this painting, longing for love and attention. I hope this painting stirs something in people's hearts. Watercolour paint and watercolour pastel is my chosen medium. The application of paint is quite expressive, but I hope I have managed to capture an atmosphere and 'emotion' through the medium used.

I Graduated from Stafforshire University with BA hons in Fine Art in 2000. I now live and work in rural mid Wales. I feel most alive when I am connected to nature; the countryside, woodlands and coastline. I also like to create images that reflect man's relationship with nature and animals in a pure, naïve way, as if looking in wonderment through the eyes of a child.
