About The Artwork
Sunflower Portrait was created as a out of context way to describe a sunflower. Each characteristic in the work is a different synonym for a descriptive word for a sunflower. For example, sunflowers have velvet soft, yellow petals that feel like feathers, that is why large, yellow feathers make up the headdress on the figure. I chose to create this piece with oil paint, to convey a fabric-like softness to the brush strokes. Hanging hardware is included.
