'Storm, Approaching' Painting

A young woman has been wandering through the cornfields on a hazy and muggy summer's day. She has been collecting flowers and fruits and suddenly the sky begins to bruise and she is worried that she may be forced to camp. She is hoping that she will manage to get back to her pretty little cottage before the purple and black and blue skies fall like a kingdom of rains. She is not far off now as the first splashes drip down her thighs and across her rosy cheeks. The lights are glowing from the cottage at the edge of the woods, and she is nearly home, where she can shelter from the rain, read Hamlet soliloquys and eat buttered crumpets with two bars on and vim under the sink.
