About The Artwork
This is my painting of the church of St Mary at Eccleston. I did the drawing of the church on one day; the landscape on another day. Painting of the background took place on location yesterday, and I finished the rest just now (2nd November, 2022). I wanted to get this done today, because I wanted at least some of the leaves left on the trees in the church yard. It was very windy, and I had to stop working when it rained, because water interferes with the application of the oil; water stops the paint adhering. Oil on canvas 101 x 81 cm.
