Mixing the image of a former drawing 'Spider II' with a variation in which the legs are places different and then folding this painting centimeter after centimeter creates a kinetic image which seems to be moving when standing in front of it. From the right side you'll see the one and from the left the other version and standing right in front, both images blur a little. Exactly the creepy sensation which spiders often bring about.

Ever since I can remember I'm drawing although I had no examples whatsoever in my childhood. I grew up on a small farm near Venlo in the the south of the Netherlands. The urge to draw finally lead to the Academie voor Beeldende Vorming Tilburg where I graduated in 1990 in drawing and painting.From that time on I am working on a collection mostly dominated by chairs depicted in very different ways. Perspective and perception are crucial elements in this never ending quest. These works are drawn with pencil or painted with watercolor. Still driven by my urge to draw.
