About The Artwork
This painting is from a series of “Spacescapes” inspired by Landsat images of the earth and colored mapping. Satellites generate geologic information into false color images and colored map areas to delineate differences in the earth’s structure. I hope that viewers will think of landscape from a different perspective. I chose acrylic paint and canvas to be able to combine pouring and painted fabric taping together. It allowed me to contrast geographic earth images and more precise mapping.
