About The Artwork

Sirin in old art and legends of the bird of paradise. Sirin its origin is obliged to medieval literary tradition. The oldest image of Syria date back to the X century and preserved on clay plates. In medieval Russian legend the Syrian clearly considered a bird of paradise, which sometimes flies to the ground and singing prophetic songs coming bliss, but sometimes these songs can be harmful to humans (it is possible to lose sanity). Therefore, in some legends of Syria becomes a negative value, so that it even begin to consider the dark bird, messenger of the underworld.
