J'ai trouvé par hasard dans une boutique des seins en cire, ils avaient été fait spécialement pour un rituel qui à lieu au Portugal chaque année en l'honneur de sainte Agathe, marier chrétienne du Vème siècle. Elle protègerait les femmes du cancer ou assurerait leur guérison. j'ai recherché des représentations de la sainte dans la peinture classique et me suis servie de ces supports pour réaliser ce tableau. Clin d'oeil aux mutilations que des milliers de femmes ont endurés durant des siècles et ceci jusqu'à nos jours. Saintes ou sorcières, le corps de la femmes est sans cesse objets de désir et d'oppression.
