Maps have always been "mestiz­os". They have always carried within themselves a mixture if science and technol­ogy, fantasy and reality, desire and power, certainty and specula­tion. Each represe­ntation of the world has its functio­nality as well as its limits, its preferences and its rejections, its accuracies and its fallacies. Though it might seem too much to accept this dystopian hyperreal condition unreservedly, it is true that we live in an ocular centered and connected world.
