About The Artwork
In my paintings I deal with the concept of perception. With stillness and movement. Proximity and distance. Light and shadow. The capture of a moment. I want to question habitual visual behavior and dissolve the familiar in structures. The abstract painting 'RedInMotion12, is part of the series "red in motion 2010-2016". In this series I have dealt with the color RED. The hue RED stands for power, love, passion and fire but also for danger, rage, destruction and anger. It is the only primary color that is perceived both positively and negatively. The painting was painted in 2010, has several layers of acrylic paint on canvas and is stretched on professionally made wooden stretcher, the sides are painted - so the artwork is ready to hang. The painting is signed on the back.

I have been working as an artist since 1988, specializing in abstract painting and photography. Since then I have exhibited my paintings and photographs in solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad, and I have received many scholarships and prizes. Based on my experience, I was a jury member for the ArtPrice of Mallorca in 2022 and 2023. My artistic work is about perception, about sensitizing the senses. I am not interested in the representation of objects. I am interested in the surface texture, structures and colors of nature. In the process of perception, the viewer experiences his own active role in the respective mediation between imagination and direct vision.
