Queen of Chinese Painting

Deric Ch'ng is born in Penang, Malaysia and lives and works in London, United Kingdom. He is an emerging British self taught artist. He earned a Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Sustainable Architectural Design in University of Lincoln, England. The artist who is originally from Malaysia, regularly exhibited work there from the age of twenty. He continues to exhibit his works in England after he moved to United Kingdom. In 2010, he launches his first solo exhibition in gallery at London. Deric's style is challenging in combining the formality and rigor of his native culture and traditions. His new acrylic paintings are a progression from his previous loose, fluid watercolours. As an artist he believes that art is an extension of his soul which permeates from time to time to reflect life's experiences. He incorporates a rich medium of colours, and includes layers of montage pieces which form these interesting and unique paintings. Deric uses luxurious, earthy colours, featuring the passionate Red derived from his Eastern background. His works has been exhibited in London regularly.
