Artist Bio: Born in Milan, Maria Scarpini attended the Art High School in Milan. In 1982 she graduated from Universita` Internazionale dell'Arte in Florence with a Diploma in Conservation of Artworks. Self taught as a painter, Scarpini lived and worked in Milan, Florence, Rome and presently in New York. Aside from her artistic activity, she practices the profession of Art Conservator, which gives her a close connection with the physical presence of the artworks.
