About The Artwork

A pair of swans meander in the lazy lagoon surrounding the Palace of Fine Arts located in the Marina District of San Francisco. The building in the Greco-Roman style is all that remains of the Panama-Pacific Exposition of 1915. Other structures were destroyed, but San Franciscans grew attached to this building and had it re-built permanently. Children and their parents come to the lagoon to feed the ducks and other birds.
