About The Artwork

The wrist-turning swirls continually insist on being figurative. I accept that I can't shake Francis Bacon from my early influences.

For the last five years I've been on an exploratory artscience research agenda in Bilbao and Mundaka, Basque Country, Spain; Auroville (City of Dawn), Tamil Nadu, India; Monte Carlo, Monaco; Frankfurt, Germany; Joensuu, Finland; Singapore; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Shark River Hills on the Jersey Shore; Broome St. in NYC; Puebla, Mexico; and now in the Ft. Worth/Dallas MetroPlex, a megacity of seven million people. STATEMENT: My intent is to paint works that will take your breath away. Images that will bring your soul to the edge of the cliff to soar in your own mindfulness. Based on my ArtScience doctorate I am working in the new field of neuroaesthetics and imaging neuroplasticity in contemporary art: The artist/scientist has the potential of enabling a higher-periphery brain structure intelligence through imagery. Both artist/scientist and viewer collaborate to be congruent in higher levels of abstraction. Both can mutually suspend beliefs of present world views (with threads of phobias, pain, and fears) to enter a transcendence thru guiding imagery. The intent is to align the heart/brain into an exploratory perceptional and behavioral witnessing process. The alignment creates a molecular, biological and cultural path to develop new wholistic maps as individuals, social beings and humanists. As Lipton writes, Cells “learn” or evolve by creating new perception proteins in response to novel environmental experiences. (2012) In the end, living in close proximity with a new esthetic experience, such as a painting, sets in motion a moment of daily subliminal experience. I give a bow to Richter, Goya, Gustav Klimt, Francis Bacon, Henri Michaux, Joseph Beuys, tantric art, Zen masters, Maori drawing techniques and the indigenous Huichol of Mexico. Because of Saatchi Art my painting have reached private collectors in Bilbao, NYC, L.A., Mexico, D.F., London, Berlin, Dubai, Singapore and Tyler, Texas.
