Like so many artists, I find myself drawn to painting the ocean. I winter on the west coast of Florida and the beauty and various moods offer endless inspiration. In this work, I want to capture the drama and vastness that I see and feel. The times we live in are turbulent and stormy and yet the foreverness of the ocean feels reassuring and everlasting.

For thirty-five years she and her husband raised cattle on their farm in central Virginia, nurturing a herd comprised of many breeds and diverse models for her painting. In her work, she explores the emotional depths of her subjects, bridging the boundary between the human and animal worlds.
