A number of sources inspired this painting, including scribbles, distortions of images from past paintings, and graffiti from a building in downtown Oslo. What I love about this painting is the overall goofiness of the participants, including the angry little puppet-man near the top, the scissor man on the lower left-hand corners, and the bouncing figures.

Craig Moran was born in Washington, DC, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Studio Art at the University of Virginia (UVA). He received a fifth-year arts fellowship at UVA, and completed a Post-Baccalaureate in Painting and Drawing at the School of Art Institute of Chicago. Mr. Moran has lived in San Francisco and Chicago, as well as various parts of Virginia. He currently resides in Washington, DC.
