About The Artwork
This piece was inspired by the aesthetics and the functions of a human urinary system. It's about naivety and abusive relationships. In “My Maker” the bladder - replaced by a human head with a vagina in place of a mouth - represents the abused victim taking in all the (verbal) beatings, while the “stress” from that causes the vagina-mouth to ooze a white liquid. The liquid represents stress as symbolic thrush.
