Primeval Forces and Christ at the Hostage Column, 2019 Dramatic red tones determine the background of the image and signal a destructive phase of the planet. Smoke columns of a large explosion rise and mix with the smoking steam of a railway thundering along. Banned firepower for the benefit of mankind. A threatening flying dinosaur from times long past, bathed in blue paint, floats above it. Dinosaurs amaze us and inspire children's imagination. Above all this, in the right background, the figure of Aphrodite, goddess of sensual desire, reproduction, in contrast to the nymph rising from the water, naked, a female spirit of nature, appears like a hint from mystical Greek times. In her hand she holds a mirror, a sign of vanity. The peasant figures in blue work clothes appear profane, the women with headscarves, in their hands full vessels with harvested grapes, behind them the large butte, which is being filled with grapes by the wearer. Between the nymph and the steam engine stands a man, also in everyday clothes, with a blue apron, holding a staff lantern in his right hand. The youth, however, is striking when he pulls a life-size "Christ figure at the torture" carved out of sandstone on a small wooden cart along the railroad track. The goal is not visible. In 1750 the sculpture was set up along the wayside forever. It should remind: "Whoever passes the way here, see how Jesus stands at the column".
