About The Artwork
This is a large watercolor painting from my river series that I have been painting for many years. It is of the Uji River, south of Kyoto. I love the sunset times when the colors come out and the lights are reflected on the river. My inspiration comes from Turner, Constable, Boudin, Corot and Japanese paintings. This is done mainly with Japanese brushes and with transparent watercolors on Arches cotton paper.
