About The Artwork
I did the drawing in the location, transferred it to canvas, then did the painting in the location. It is in the Snowdonia national park, at Llyn Gafr, a lake under Cadr Idris. It was done in the burning hot mid-summer of 2022. After doing the drawing I took the Fox path up to the summit, a very steep and loose pathway. For the painting, I made my way across the hills carefully holding the canvas at arms length. My idea had been to put some part of Cadr Idris in my collection of works.The colours are those of Wales in an unusual and very bright sunlight.
