About The Artwork

‘Jodhpur’ was inspired by my time in the city during a music festival which brought together the Andalucían, Gypsy and Rajasthani Folk cultures. It is about blends and contrasts, parallel heritage, travel, colour and music. My experience of hearing and seeing some talented musicians, artists and dancers is expressed in this semi-representational piece. There is interplay between the Jodhpur blue with colours and forms of the desert crossing over to the elements from Andalucían and Gypsy cultures. The scale of this piece suggests an almost tangible recreation of my walks through the city. Exhibited at my Solo show at UNESCO, India in November 2018 Exhibited at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, Reserved Lounge, Terminal 1D. June - Sept 2017
