This piece is about the power of color and layering vibrant layers of warm hues in order to create depth and interest. I have been playing with the concept of strength with grace. The inner gut feeling that guides us in life. I wanted to create a visual that creates an emotional connection to the viewer. I did not want the eye to setting in one place but rather force continued movement which exemplifies the intuitive process which is life.

Cristina Silvestri b. 1984 is an interdisciplinary artist based in Chicago. Cristina is first generation American and spent much of her life in Italy where her family still lives. In 2006 Cristina moved to Florence, Italy to pursue art and be closer to family. She returned to Chicago in 2008 and has continued her art practice. Although she is primarily a painter, she is interested in creating dimension and pushing the borders and frames of painting.
