Works are based on anxiety or concern about what is happening to the World. I saw the whole concept as an apocalyptic dream – like „the day after“ .. Today we see that such scenes are no longer a fantasy, but a real threat. I developed a passion for the phenomenon urban exploring, especially amusement parks destroyed or simply abandoned. Inspiration for my paintings include “Spreepark“ (Berlin, DE), “Six Flags“ (New Orleans, USA), or „Chernobyl“ (Pripyat, Ukraine). Dilapidated buildings are „eaten“ by plants (reclaimed by nature). People are gone – somewhere they’re returning back – in gas masks.. or sail on a boat – its the reference on Charon, the ferryman who conveyed the souls of the dead across the Styx.

*1984 lives and works in Bratislava (Slovakia) and Vienna (Austria) www.olique.sk In my work I follow ecological and environmental problems, focusing on relationships between man, animals and nature. I like search new ways and techniques, crossing borders of traditional medium. When I started painting, I was using less traditional surfaces – brown paper, damaged doors from dumps, later on it was hardboard and canvas. The media I used included asphalt, oil, acrylic paint, ink, scratching, pencil (destruction). I experiment with contrasting materials by blending a variety techniques. I work on wood by painting, carving and scorching (Fire Painting). The topics of my paintings are actually variations on the internal feeling of a human being, an individual, a creature in the dehumanised urban environment. They’re sketches of situations, scenes, thoughts, yet they’re not expressed in a straightforward manner, but on a sort of second level. Essentially, I’m a figuralist painter. My works always include certain beings, creatures, animals or their shadows. More or less concrete, sometimes only suspected. The world of phantoms and myths is more real than reality. I love myths, legends, fairy tales, and watch how they evolve from the time I was little. Someone once said that myths can only be narrated by those who have a myth of their own. I hope that within me, I have something like that as well... Olga graduated on the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava (Slovakia) and has also studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts (Austria).
