About The Artwork
The dramatic slopes of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. I remember on this morning how the unbearable cold of the Sierras was swept away instantly in a flurry of white-hot light as the sun rose. I decided to name this painting after Gandalf’s beautiful line from “The Return of the King" because of the hope that filled me. “Hope is Kindled” was created on a 1.5” thick stretched canvas, with the painting continuing around the edges.
