About The Artwork
Gyumjae(1676~1759, Joseon Dynasty) was a Korean landscape painter. This painting was motivated from one of his painting "Kumgang mountains", which was painted in 1734. I used gluey and floating etching ink to describe the dry, rocky peaks of the mountains. But what I'm trying to focus on this painting is not only to remake the landscape of the past master but to create another new different abstract inspired by the old traditional painting. This has no frame, stretched over stretcher bars and will be shipped in a cardboard box with extra careful packaging.

Your thought on where the brushstrokes begins and ends just make sense in that point. Because when you paddle on the water, the act of paddling appears on the water and then disappears. In that sense, it's meaningless to find where it starts and ends and even meaningless to distinguish 'drawing' action from 'erasing' action on water.
