About The Artwork
The tube-like black forms threaded through the holes in the suspended black box and knotted together are made purely from semi-dry sheets of black household gloss paint. The work was inspired by psychoanalytic theory and refers to Sigmund Freud's theory of the Castration Complex. The work aroused controversy and interest wherever it was exhibited.
