Geometric composition in blue Painting

We - as a couple - work on all paintings together. We are inspired by nature and life in general: whatever makes a positive impact will sooner or later be part of our work. Not everything can be explained. Sometimes it is better to leave a meaning to the spectator and let the imagination take over. We encourage you to feel the work, rather than to 'observe' it. This is, of course, best done live! Because internet is not the best place to encounter the spirit of our paintings, we provide several details, so you might get the glimpse of what the painting is all about. This work contains about 8 layers that together provide a relief, a special structure across the whole painting. First we make the structure, which contains at least 3 layers of paint. Then we start using colour. Because of the layered nature of our paintings, we always work on several paintings at the same time. Making this work took about 2 months, including drying time in between stages. We decided not to frame the work: that would feel restrictive. It is signed by the both of us and ready to hang.
