About The Artwork
Gaston Bachelard had a daughter, Suzanne. Suzanne organized her father's manuscripts and produced a posthumous book: Fragments of a Poetics of Fire. This series of paintings appears influenced by the reading of this book and also by the countless warmongering events that spread across the planet. Thus, this series of paintings seeks an aggressive beauty, because, said Bachelard, inflamed expression surpasses thought, like a psychology of excess. If we can reveal that an excess of life burns in the plastic image, we will have meaning in speaking in a hot artistic language, a great fireplace of undisciplined images where being is consumed.
