The first layers of this painting began as brightly coloured mountains, each mountain was a different colour so collectively they somewhat represented a rainbow and their depth gave the suggestion of somewhere beyond. I was then influenced by colours of sand, sea, clear blue skies, somewhere dreamy and the divine feminine. This was infused into the painting and explains the softer, more pastel colours and the final appearance. When one daydreams there is a drifting swirl of the mind getting lost in thought, you can see this swirl like effect within the painting through the direction and convergence of the colours (particularly where they come to a point and merge).
