About The Artwork
I’m a painter who primarily works in acrylics but also experiments in multi-media, collage and chalk paints on a variety of surfaces. I am constantly drawn back again and again to pattern that evokes nature, specifically plants and flowers. Bringing the beauty of nature inside to decorate our homes and interior spaces is universal and cross-cultural. It's almost like it's own language with symbols and stylized motifs. Color is also another important aspect of my work, primarily drawing from pre-mixed palette swatches from hardware stores. This particular series is so fun to paint on found fabric. So there is a pattern already laid out and in my process I am "deleted" areas of the pattern, reacting to it, allowing it to show through while I'm painting on the surface. This series is float mounted (to show edges) and in a white, wood frame. Estimated framed size is 24"x 24". Please allow 2-3 weeks for framing and shipping to process.

I’m interested in blurring the boundaries between the contemporary and decorative art worlds. I also experiment with simple do-it-yourself (DIY) techniques, that are typically prevalent within the home decorating market, and re-contextualize them within a modern painting framework.
