About The Artwork

I'm deeply interested in the Garden of Eden and the paradise that once was as described through Genesis. "And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil." (Genesis 2:9) It's almost difficult to think about plants never dying and always in full splendor as it was in Eden. After the fall of man, death looms, not only for humanity but for the plant and animal kingdoms as well. The recorded deaths of prehistoric plants in our world can be seen in fossil records. Research into this area inspired this depiction of an ancient plant species of the so called 'early Eocene period,' the Eucalyptus. I began to imagine this plant species recorded in Amber stone. Signed in front, sides painted, sealed with satin varnish ready for hanging. I'm fascinated by Biblical scripture and the natural world. I represent my love for all things made by God in each painting. He is my inspiration and everything I create serves to glorify Him. As a child I began to see the expanse of our world through travel and have always sought ways to express my memories and experiences. Visiting my paternal grandmother in the country of Panama, surrounded by stunning greenery in every corner led me to imagine and collect photos, sketches and fossils. Visiting my maternal ancestral home in Bolivia allowed me to see the immensity of God's creation - from the mountainous region of the Andes to the exotic animal life. I have since been enamored with all wonders of the natural world from animals, bodies of water, to plants. I dedicate all artwork to our Heavenly Father.
