About The Artwork

"Enrapture" is an original watercolour painting by Brazen Edwards measuring approximately 9" x 12 (25.40cm x 35.56cm) on 140lb Lanaquarelle cold pressed watercolour paper. This organically inspired flowing contemporary artwork is a stunning statement piece for your home or office. This painting is an abstract landscape, with the lake and forest illuminated at sundown. It is reminiscent of the colours the sun plays on our surroundings when dusk comes and the sun is low in the sky. Wet and dry paints on paper mix together and find their place to give breath to your imagination.

I grew up on the prairies of Alberta but always felt a particular pull towards the mountains, ocean and warmer weather so after pursuing a career in Criminology, and raising a set of identical twin boys I moved to BC in 2009 and felt inspired. I realized my one true regret in life was putting my art aside for so long, so with the encouragement of my family, I took the initiative and began devoting myself to painting full time and haven't looked back! After leaving such a stressful career, I felt it was necessary to re-evaluate what I focused on, what I attracted into my life and if my creativity can inspire and bring happiness to others then I feel my life has meaning. In 2015, I opened Ellis Art Studios, a 6000sq ft fine art facility located downtown Kelowna that utilizes a mentor–apprentice model to prepares artists, emerging or professional to develop their art and design skills. I now reside in Vancouver, Canada but spend part of the year painting and travelling the world. Along with my studio and exhibition practice, I also provide workshops, consulting, painting demonstrations and organize art events worldwide. My latest project is a long term art residency in Bangkok, Thailand.
