About The Artwork
The name Angela is derived from the Greek word ángelos, meaning "messenger of God". 'Engel' (angel in German) was the name chosen to represent Angela Merkel, who is, as we know, one of the strongest female presences in today's society. Observed by the public, almost naked, Angela continues with a superior air, without losing her pride. Her character is still present, but also is the strength and reliability of a German woman.

Portraits, faces, expressions and interactions of my subjects with the audience on a personal level are among the themes that I have been exploring lately. I use traditional techniques coming from a strong educational background, but am also developing my own instinctive and contemporary approach to painting and art.
