This painting represents a piece of the trunk of Eucalyptus Deglupta, seen in close-up through the prism of spring colors. This colorful tree, native to the Philippines, fascinates the artist Karine d'Arlhac to the highest point with its incredible complexions which evolve over the seasons, encompassing all the chromaticity of the rainbow (hence its nickname), and the shapes of its shreds worthy of an abstract contemporary art painting, suggesting that different shades of paint have flowed and blended together in harmony, to the delight of the eyes. This theme is directly inspired by his passion for tree bark and more particularly by cortices in multiple colors and shapes. She photographs them at each change of season in France, and in all the countries she visits. She had the chance to observe this Eucalyptus Deglupta on the hills of the Estérel massif, in the Var department in France.

France
From her early childhood, Karine d'Arlhac was made aware of all forms of fine art thanks to her family, which had a strong artistic fiber : drawing, painting, sculpture and music were regularly practiced there. His hypersensitivity, sometimes exacerbated, often inflamed, made him choose painting. Having lived in Africa and Europe for part of his childhood and adolescence, his travels forever changed his personality. They amplified her perceptions by absorbing the cultures and the incredible diversity of arts she was confronted with, as much in shapes, as in colors, and sometimes unusual media. From her wanderings, she brought back the strength of movement, the power of colours and the intensity of light. In 1984, her paternal grandmother, Gisèle, took her to see Pablo Picasso's exhibition at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. It was a real eye - opener! Karine d'Arlhac fell madly in love with Contemporary Art, which corresponds to her search for the unusual, the unexpected, the extraordinary, springing up where we least expect it. His signature "K" in the shape of a star is his course, his compass (symbol that luck and the muses of creativity accompany and inspire him in his work) is also linked to Gisèle who, passionate about ancient Egypt, explained to him that the "Ka" symbolized the soul, the vital energy, the life force, the spiritual double of a person. Just like the works of an artist who are an extension of himself...! With her particular look at our environment, she aspires to share the magic of the beauty of the world, immortalizing the essence of the diversity of our planet Earth. Today, his ambition is to make a full living from his art. So, it was only natural for her to take the plunge and successfully apply to national and international art competitions.
