About The Artwork

"Echoes of Us" draws inspiration from a location along the Waikato River, inviting viewers on a reflective exploration of how relationships and connections resonate in our memories over time, especially when those connections are lost or come to an end. This painting presents a heightened reality with a vivid blue sky, the reflected landscape in the river is gently disrupted by irregular flowing currents, mirroring the complexities of our minds as they process and distort memories. At the heart of this scene is a group of trees, purposefully finished in an almost velvet-black bark in deliberate contrast with the softness of the background landscape. Once firmly rooted in the riverbank, they've become an integral part of the river's journey over time. As the river changed its course, these trees found themselves embraced by its waters. Rather than fading away, they've emerged as resilient monuments, standing tall amidst life's currents

I’m delighted to invite you on a journey through my life as an artist and painter; a journey deeply intertwined with the very process of creation itself. My approach embraces spontaneity over analysis, allowing instinct and intuition to shape my work.  My creative process is interwoven with landscapes and abstracts, a harmonious fusion that keeps my creativity in constant motion. This interplay preserves the fluidity and intuitive essence that defines my work, a testament to staying true to my artistic core.   I Live in Oakura, Taranaki, NZ. Growing up surrounded by black sand beaches and the native bush in Taranaki has left a strong imprint on my creativity. I'm inspired by the moodiness and drama of the New Zealand west coast of and the vast expansive landscape of the coast.
