The title is in Maori and English from Psalm 22:27. I title my work with scripture to reference the eternal in the land. In New Zealand, the dead tree theme is a Nationalist icon for New Zealand Art. In my work this icon is locked in behind prison style fencing. It is uniformly sized with others in the series and collectively they look like assorted pages of a book behind glass. Behind presentation frames, these works read like fragments of land and scripture. Its signed and titled in Maori below the work and painted on canvas paper. On purchase the title can be framed over if preffered.
