The painting is based on a reference photo taken at the weeping willow on the île de la cité, Paris. A group of youths have a carefree apéritif at dusk as the sun sets casting a warm glow. It is a contemporary spin on Manet's "Déjeuner sur l'herbe", where youth equally revel with abandon. Extreme impasto bark lend it a sculpturally dimensional aspect. Signed on side and UV matte varnished for protection.
