About The Artwork
Title: Crystalized Medium: Acrylic on Canvas Size: Small This piece is a prototype into a fusion of styles that blends my linear abstract pieces with supremist style tones in a minimalistic future landscape. The concept is to create organic looking crystals-- two things that are kind of opposite. Crystals are rigid, angular, fixed, and very non-organic in nature. To give them motion and make them have a connection is a difficult task and this piece was my first approach on a canvas after a number of pencil sketches and drawings before it. I had a lot of fun with this one and plan to do similar pieces in the future but this was the pioneer piece, the prototype, and the first of many to come.

Artist and Engineer In 2004, Michael graduated with degrees in computer science and mathematics and has held multiple positions in software and systems engineering and technical management. When he was in his 30s, just before COVID started, Michael had a few significant life events that changed his life, his priorities, and his future. He went through a divorce, found new romance, was sick and hospitalized for a few weeks twice. During the course of these events, Michael was able to find his footing and rediscover old interests, hobbies, and passions. Namely, it was time for him to get back into art and music. Michael was enrolled in college again but this time for Fine Arts, Visual Arts (and will be completing his degree in the Spring of 2024).
